Punishment



Hi, I know I will probably get trolled for posting this. POE is a great game and when someone posts something that could or should be changed - The Trolls come out in force. :D

We play games to feel good - Not too feel bad.

I'm just wondering why game companies (Not just GGG) seem to be obsessed with punishing players rather than rewarding them.

Examples are bricking Settlers by forcing a pirate encounter to brick because of a server disconnect. - Okay maybe not completely bricked but unrealistic to build it up again within a league.

It all started with XP loss ... The better you get the more punishment you receive.

Punishment is not a challenge ...

The idea seems simple to me.
Success = Reward
Failure = Try again - Maybe you learned something?
