Merc versus Deadeye: end game
Merc: Crossbow needs reload speed, cooldown recovery, attack speed, and weapon swap speed and can't use a quiver. Map mods of 50 percent less recovery make the archtype nearly unplayable. Build already suffers from delayed damage with grenades and the bolts are less dps than spells with a 650 dps crossbow. Terrible defenses save evasion (armour is worthless) which is ok until you get hit with a 2k life pool. The 4 sorcery ward ASCENDANCY points are the worst actual nodes you can take in the game period. cut defenses in half for some ele mitigation on an 8 second timer? I'd rather just not get hit and so would everyone else not to mention the 4 wasted points that were suppose to enhance the character.. not gimp it.
Deadeye: great ascendancy in an already too slow game. Uses Bows with the SAME damage rolls as a crossbow.. shoots faster arrows with INSTANT damage, does not suffer from game breaking cooldown mechanics attached to delayed damage attacks. Uses a quiver for 6 additional mods. Hope you are paying attention GGG.. MERC is a giant fail, especially for end game versus literally ANY other class period... but the bombs do look cool until you realize they cover up on death ground effects well seemingly in every other mob. Mercs are often instakicked from parties as well simply for the fact that players don't want to die because they were standing in your poison cloud while the boss explodes. Enough said.
