Titan issues?

I’m hitting end game on my second character and this is is a warrior/titan. My concern is that I can’t keep a dual wielding set up and survive. Even at the end of act 3 when I had 3.8k armor and 65 + in my resistances I was still taking a ton of damage just to get close to mobs. Not many great long range skills so I use stampede with armor break and stun but still lose most of my health on some mob packs. And I get dodge rolling lets me dodge a lot of damage but it’s not viable in endgame and ruins the fun when you have to roll more than attack. The only sure fire way to survive seems to be to run a weapon and a shield set up but I’d like to play the way I want with 2 two handers and I think the idea of the game is that you should be able to. I’ve tried switching to leap slam and other melee skills but they dont seem better and don’t help against ranged attacks. There is a node that lets you defend with more armor from attacks from farther away but I don’t think it can carry. I like titan but I hope I’m not forced in to the weapon and shield combo to play real endgame content. Also a little off topic but the sunder skill while good damage just straight up doesn’t hit enemies a lot of the time. I get if it was evasive ones but it’s not. Some times I have to cast the skills 3 times before it actually connects with the enemy who’s standing right on top of it. If this is an accuracy thing then I guess I can’t complain but it just seems really weird sometimes

I was in fact forced to switch to shield and one weapon to survive. Died way to easy without it.
it's cause armour scales extremely poorly the further you go into end game "currently", so when you play like a melee build you end up playing more of a ranged melee in most maps right now because you are way more squishy and prone to being one shot. Shields do help a bit but even then they are not a fix all for the current problem with armour.
Buy a Cloak of Flame and Infernoclasp, then look in your passive tree for Unnatural Resilience, and Heatproofing. Thank me later.

My experience was as a pure 2-hander build until I had 3X the STR required for an Advanced Temple Maul or similar. I had terrible issues with 8% (?) heavy armor move speed until I got a huge move speed boot upgrade via trade.

I invested so heavily into armor, life, and life regen that I was able to [just barely] outlast most opponents. I forget when but as soon as I went 2 hander + Shield [Giant's Blood] the game got VASTLY easier.

I assume around Tier 13+ maps [when juiced] will give me big problems as I doubt I have enough life to successfully take a crit from a juiced mob. Still feels good in T10+ at least.
