Cast on X gems feel like shit
With the whole energy buildup, they feel unreliable and inconsistent, frankly, terrible. Dump the whole energy concept, and instead give them a reliable proc(ie, cast on shock is a 100% chance to cast on shocking an rare or unique enemy) but give them an internal cooldown of 3-5 seconds by default(Or I guess, cannot proc if proc'd Recently since you love that one :) ).
If you want more frequent casts, you can add a few support gems that will proc them more often(maybe a fixed internal cooldown of 2-3x a second) or against magic/white mobs but with appropriate penalties, such as reduced damage, inability to proc status effects, inability to trigger itself, or whatever to make it viable but not obviously broken. These abilities in their current state just feel terrible, I would rather have an option to use them for supporting skills(curses, frost/fire walls, marks, etc) than have them be functionally useless except when someone occasionally finds a broken combo that can trigger the skills 50x a second to insta-delete everything(such as ball lightning + orb of storms / lightning rod or orb of frost). A simple example - being able to reliably proc Mark's on rare enemies(or bosses) while mapping using cast on shock would feel incredible. Being able to equip a firewall that would proc every few seconds on shocking an enemy to buff your damage would also feel great. Being able to equip frostwall, having it proc on shock, then letting you hit it with stormcall so you can shotgun bosses would be great. Currently, these things are *technically* possible, but simply feel like shit, they're unreliable, don't proc often even with 100% chance to shock, and only work with a select few skills that shock 50x a second. A this stage, they should also nerf Orb and Rods too, and then completely delete Cast on X from the game for good. Because keeping it in the game might create an unwanted experience when someone might accidentally waste a skill gem on it.

Cast on Minion death can't make minions so it's not even for Minion builds 🤔

They could make it cost 10 spirit and it still wouldn't be worth using.

" Well, yea, which is why I'm asking for a fix. They are "too strong" with only a few very specific skills, but unusable for everyone and everything else. I would rather them be useful for everyone, but not have these edge cases where those 3 skills are completely broken. At the very least, doing what I mentioned will give more options for players, as they could simply use supports to add in the same functionality that exists now(with slightly nerfed numbers to prevent obvious edge cases of 1 shotting any boss), while giving them the ability to be much more useful for other skills.
