Changing the weapon, does not update DPS on skill gem read out

It is impossible to see which weapon provides higher DPS without actually play testing, and even then if it is a small upgrade, it is hard to determine. I have 2 completely different weapons based on elemental dmg vs physical dmg. Some that have skill gem plus levels vs increased elemental dmg, and it I am unable to compare, because no matter which weapon I equip, it doesn't change the DPS numbers reflected. Highly frustrating. I know POE 1 and 2 are different games, but being able to see when I have an upgrade vs not needs to be easily visible, especially as it relates to the weapon.
