Illuminated Crown Bugged

Greetings,
The node on the tree "Illuminated Crown" states the following: - 70% increased Energy Shield from Equipped Helmet I have a helmet equipped which has energy shield, when I take this node there is 0 change to my energy shield. Thanks. Last bumped on Jan 6, 2025, 9:31:13 PM

Having spent more time in the game and considering what I've heard, my believe is this is not actually a bug, but an interaction due to how Eldritch Battery (EB) works with Energy Shield (ES).
I have also checked this out on my Infernalist with no EB, and the ES also didn't change. Just thought I would provide this update. I would also suggest that EB's tooltip could use a more detailed explanation as to which affixes will no longer be able to increase ES if you take that node. Also doesn't work for me, but I believe this should have nothing to do with how EB works. EB should only affect your mana, not your actual ES.
If this was an EB interaction then any other "increase ES%" node should not work and they do work normally. EB conversion should be applied only to what affects the mana portion, not the ES portion... But yes, EB is confusing and needs better explanation, "increase ES%" works on it, but not quite the total(if I remove EB my mana goes down by a total of 800, but my ES goes from 3k+ to 6k+), why does my ES goes down when I take EB? Why does it still go up when I put point son "increase ES%"? Why doesn't it go up when i put points on "Increase maximum mana" nodes? |

Ok, I've digged further, and this indeed looks like not a bug.
With Eldritch Battery we have 0 ES, with CI we have 0 life. Only mana remains, we only get some ES back from the amulet "The everlasting gaze..." which give us 20%+ ES from mana, thats the ES that gets escaled, it doesn't come from the helmet nor the focus, it comes from the amulet. I wonder if the "Necromantic Talisman" would then give all minions my whole 3k ES too, because technically it comes from the amulet.... |
