Issue with Coop Trail completion

I managed to complete the first trial of the sekhemas but my coop partner lost honor right before the final boss died. They currently have the quest "Use the altar of ascendancy to choose your ascendancy". However, they did not survive the trial. They have no way of clicking the altar OR attempting the trail again. How do they go about fixing this issue?
