[pushing endgame] Blood mage Bonestorm Fork/chain

Hello exile,

A friend of mine started the game with a witch blood mage, his build was not very effective and he kept telling us that blood mage was absolutely bad. As I like to reroll, I went for my 4th character as a blood mage to take up the challenge. And finally this character became my main because I love this so much!

After 77H played on this character, i decide to share this build for all people who have difficulty getting their blood mage to work

This build use 4 mecanique of the projectile type

- Chain from terrain (support gem + jewel)
- Fork (with the ring)
- add projectile (gem support)
- 50% chance to add projectile (talent tree)

With a good amont of cast speed, a single use of Bonestorm without maintening the channeling delivery a large number of projectile :

1 - Projectile hiting = fork 2 projectile
2 - Projectile do not hitting = 82% of chance to chain from the terrain to a enemy (the projectile will chain from the ground)
3 - Forked projectile do not hitting a enemy = 82% of chance to chain from the terrain to a enemy, if a wall are in range.


You can play this build with Bone Cage for the leveling asap, but you truely become to do damage when you start to stack : % to add projectile / % chain from terrain / fork

The snowball of this build have a limite :

1 the animation of Bonestrom
2 the cost mana
3 the cost life

The animation of Bonestorm can't be accelerated with the cast speed, it's only increasing the number of projectile you stack the time of the animation. If you increase to much the cast speed / spell lvl, the cost of your channeling will exceed the HP recovery capacity of Life Remnant, limiting your HP pool. Taking few mana nodes to concentrate on increasing damage, you risk having mana problems.

Solution to this limit = having more damage, % spell damage / crit chance / crit damage / cast speed. Why ? change the brutality gem support for the inspiration gem

My current gear price :

wand = 10 exalt
focus = 20 exalt
helmet = 1 divine
body armor = 40 exalt
belt = 1 divine
glove = 1 divine
boots = 1 divine (+1 lucky vaal^^)
amulet = 30 exalt
rigth ring = 10 exalt
left ring = 1 divine

I forgot the name right now, but there is a legendary chest that has a |% chance to generate a power charge if you crit. It seems to only ever provide 1 power charge per cast, but it does so incredibly reliably with a high crit build. Meaning that all your projectiles now do AoE too. Maybe worth considering!

Was not aware of there existing relevant jewels for chain from terrain! Neither of the % chance to add projectile from talent tree! Quite a new player, only made it to lvl 59 on this first character so far. But been absolutely loving it too. Just unlocked cast on crit spirit gem which I'm trying out, casting bone cage with astral projection (so it hits afar). Honestly lost the overview a little in what is causing all the damage, but it procs an awful lot and bosses just melt at a ridiculous speed (for now).
