Eldritch Battery + More energy from Focus not working

When I disable Eldritch Battery I get 6395 shield and 2198 Mana. When i turn it on, I get 2.909 Shield and 3757 Mana, the shield comes from Everlasting Gaze. So that's the base value i'm working with.

If I then take the 3 nodes close to Eldritch battery, Focus energy Shield x2 and Dreamcatcher, which should give me 155% increased energy shield from my focus, I should gain at least some mana, but nothing happens.

When i take off eldritch battery and get the other 3 mentioned nodes I get an increase, from 6395 ES to 6653 ES and my Mana stays the same.

Could be I don't get the workings of Everlasting Gaze and the other buffs, but it seems to me that I should get Mana or ES increase no matter if I use Eldrich Battery

Eldritch Battery converts base ES from gear to mana first and then apply all related mana bonuses to it, but not ES bonuses. That is intended.
Not a bug. If you view the Eldritch Battery node in the passive skill tree and hover over the word "convert" it clearly states that the conversion only applies to your base ES. It means that it converts ALL of your base ES. That doesn't stop items from converting life to energy shield after the fact though.

So order of operations as intended is:

1. Base ES is converted to mana by Eldritch Battery
2. Ghostwrithe or Atziri's Disdain convert life to ES
3. Everlasting Gaze adds ES based on base mana
4. Percentage increases from skill nodes are then applied to both ES and mana

Increases to ES on the skill tree won't result in more mana from eldritch battery.

These are intended interactions which many people have mistakenly interpreted as a bug because they haven't read the "convert" tooltip on the Eldritch Battery node.
