Molten Blast Physical Conversion Question

The Attack says "Converts 60% of Physical Damage to Fire Damage".

Does this mean the physical damage that comes from only my weapon? Or does it take into account the % increase to physical damage in the passive tree? What are the order of operations here with this?

Appreciate any help or guidance to find the answer here.

this accounts for the total damage of the skill.

this accounts for the total damage of the skill.

That... still doesn't tell me much. The skill doesn't say it does physical damage at all. So where is it computing the physical damage from the skill?
The physical portion will benefit from increased physical damage and the fire portion will benefit from increased fire damage. Based on information we've had about the new conversion mechanics in poe2, physical damage shouldn't apply to the fire damage.

Basically any physical or fire damage increases you get will only apply to a portion of the skill, so neither are very efficient. It would be best to invest in more generic modifiers such as attack damage, projectile damage or area damage.

If you support it with fire infusion, it will now have a larger portion of fire damage that might justify investing in.
