Must HAVE Affixes
Must have Affixes are a major problem with progression and gearing.
Rarity of Items found Move Speed Certain Affixes that appear on gear are basically must have on those pieces of gear, and their existence makes not having them make items basically worthless. We need to either create an in game baseline that increases as players progress through the campaign through a boss or sideboss reward. Or a new item slot specifically for these affixes. or straight up removed from the game. Last bumped on Dec 27, 2024, 10:25:30 PM

Any stat that is a generic must have between all builds shouldn't be gear-dependent. It should be baked into character progression or attributes.
I made a post before about dialing back movespeed on boots and giving +movespeed per x dex, up to a cap, with some minor movespeed (up to 15%) as an implicit on boots. Maybe something similar with magic find and int. The current implementation of attributes feels a little stale and I think is a good design space to deal with these problems. Especially since attributes are much easier to mix with the new passive tree. If I want more movespeed, I splash in some dex onto my build. If I want more magic find, maybe I stack more int or something. If I'm playing a dex-heavy build, I naturally move faster and get to the +movespeed cap. If I'm playing int heavy, I naturally move slower but innately get to the +rarity cap. Would make random off stats on items more than just a means to use gems and gear, give you something to consider and make some rares worth more. It shouldn't scale any bonus like this infinitely of course. It should cap at like 150-200 of the specific attribute. |
