I love the game was fun and I wish I could make currency actually mapping. Only consistent way to earn currency is doing carries or interact with this insanely convoluted atlas and juice out the wazooo with rarity.
They butchered strongboxes a complete shell of what they once were. Make them instant again and let me have them corrupted again. PLSPLSPLS Towers- I hate these things forced to path through shitty maps just to get to these and have to clear it to juice surrounding maps feels awful. Let me juice my maps all the time without having to path to stupid tower. Bring back a variant of the old map device so I can just have every map juiced and use towers purely for finding citadels because after mapping for 100s of hours I have found 2. Why cant I have strongboxes and essence in every single map? Why does the node have to be 20% chance with a max of like 31%, most the time these 2 things made it so people who were average at the game and not complete blasters could still bring in consistent currency and progress a build. I have hit a wall where I can't progress my build without insane investment and I have 0 way of consistent currency grind. 100s of hours of mapping have not found a single Perfect Jewelers Orb 5 SOCKET GANG WHERE YOU AT! Long story short I just want to do maps, I do not want to avoid good maps to head to a tower to maybe juice the good maps I avoided with breach and then put in a way stone that has rarity on it in order to actually feel rewarded. Way to convoluted, sure POE 1 AlCH and GO wasn't meta for currency making, but it sure as hell was 10000x more fun and rewarding than this shit. Currently feels like I am walking through the mud trenches praying I get a raw divine drop to keep drip feeding me the smallest amounts of progress. Game is great I enjoy it more than I ever enjoyed POE1 but there tons of glaring problems I have not even addressed and most of it boils down to my time being wasted, I think it is basically time for me to stop playing after 100s of hours and wait for them to get out of this identity crisis of POE2 and figure out what direction they actually want to take this game and make it good. I run T7s all the time and make fantastic currency. Seems like a skill issue
Strongboxes were never that great even in POE 1 and in POE 2 they are of equal importance Use your low tier maps and just fly through it. takes about 3 minutes of your precious time If you want the old atlas...go play POE 1. The end game is not even 20% completed 100% a skill issue. Maybe stop juicing all your maps and just do the tier that your character can use? Perfect Jeweler orb is probably the rarest item in the game. It seems that you are really stuck on POE 1 mapping and came into POE 2 thinking it was going to be similar and now that you realize that its not. You are sad. Understandable but could have been prevented 1 divine can literally build you a set that can take you to t15s...skill issue No there is not "glaring" problems. Strongboxes have been consistent since prophecy league and the addition of monstrous treasure, and then even greater with the addition of atlas passive tree. Like, come on. "I am literally blasting T15's and 16's whenever I get a lucky corrupt the issue not that the maps are hard the issue is I don't feel any reward even with 180% MF on my gear and the mapping in general is not any fun due to how convoluted it is. Strongboxes are quite pointless right now. Take forever to do, their cast abilities seem quite overtuned (the monsters? No problem. But those icicles? DEATH). And their loot seems to be bugged to not be worthwhile. The guaranteed unique drop doesn't drop a unique (unless they count a chance shard as a unique), and the loot is atrocious. I found a corrupted strong box with 100% increased rarity. It dropped all blues.
Towers I think do need a bit more reward. A cartographer's chest that drops waystones or tablets would make it worthwhile to put a high tier map in at least - have the first tower cache you clear guarantee a tablet to introduce the mechanic to players. I do think the citadel system needs some sort of tweak. The gameplay flow of endgame rewards juicing up an area and clearing all those nodes. But the citadel system encourages just blitzing out in every direction to look for them. If you want to progress your build and farm, you basically forgo seeing the end game content. If you want to see the end game content, you'll be dealing with waystone sustain and not getting as valuable drops. Not sure the solution for that, but it would be nice to have some sort of indication I'm moving towards a citadel right now. Clearing t15 maps on my invoker and still haven't seen one.
