Witch gamebreaking skill gem bug, no more minions

As I was playing around with skill gems on my level 31 witch to see what all was possible I tried to add a Level 6 shockwave totem to my build but as soon as I added it all my minions disappeared including my flame dog. After un-equiping the shockwave totem skill gem my minions are still gone and will not respawn. This is a major bummer as now I cannot play my witch.

The problem seemed to be that after socketing the shockwave totem skill gem into my skills it added the bare hands melee skill to my skill list which for some reason stopped my minions from spawning. I fixed the issue by doing a weapon swap from I to II re-equipping my sceptre minions and then switching back to weapon set I. I would still consider this a bug and it should be looked into as it is extremely frustrating and if I did not love the game so much it would have caused me to abandon the game completely.
