Bots whisper bombing

I dunno if this has been going on in poe1 but it's new to me in poe2. This just started today for me.
I don't really have a suggestion for what GGG can do about it but if nothing is done it's going to cripple trade when everyone is just going dnd or turn off whispers.
Anyone else feel this way or am I over reacting?

I'm getting spammed as well, just randomly started one day and its been happening since. Hopefully GGG finds a way to stop this.

Another reason we need an auction house. These gold bot sellers are using users names that have items listed on POE trade website.

I find it super hard to believe that GGG couldn't stop this if they wanted to. I mean currently these accounts are paying to access so it would be even easier now while the game is in EA.

They don't want to stop this for whatever reason and you can interpret that however you like.

Say you have farm for RMT, with 100 bots.
100 bots x 30$ = 3000$ for GGG.

Divines are like how much? 4$?
You get even at 750.

And its not only currency, some items sell for 10$, some even for 100$.

What is the downside for GGG here?
Besides that they are getting the money from the bot farm accounts, what harm do you see?
