[Invoker] Eternal Youth and Life Leech interaction?

I have begun using the Eternal Youth notable and am trying to understand the different interactions it has with different life leech/ES leech abilities. Does anyone know if life leech still applies to life, or if it swaps all abilities that would regenerate life and instead regenerate ES? I noticed this when using Meditate, which only regenerates life when running it with Eternal Youth, but the ES leech shock support gem still seems to apply to ES, so I'm confused. I would love to have my build be able to self sustain ES through higher leeching, but I don't want to spec into life leech if there will be no benefit.

On a similar note, are "Recoup x% life" nodes treated differently, and would they apply to ES if I take them?

Eternal Youth:

Life Recharges instead of Energy Shield.

Life recovery from flasks applies to ES instead.



Explanation: Your life goes up when using Meditate, because it specifically says recharges energy shield.

No leech, recovery, or regen will effect your energy shield. That is not from a flask.

The survivability of Eternal Youth for ES builds is tied to how good the flask is. Charges per sec, % instant recovery is the usual mods for a good life flask. You could probably run a "more recovery when on low life" flask if you are CI, because it's currently bugged and you always count as at full and on low life.
