Magnitude increase question. Is it a 10% increase or 10% of base magnitude so 1.5% increase?
So for bleed as an example, you have a base magnitude of 15% of the total physical damage (unless some node etc makes it all damage etc).
Now say I take 3 10% increased magnitude nodes. My guess is that it just boosts that by 10% of the base, so 1.5% increased % of physical damage. Taking the base 15% and making it into 18.5%. Anyone know if that is the case? I imagine it would be too strong if it made the 15% into 45%, but just want to be sure. It seems to me that if it really is only a 1.5% increase for each 10%, you are probably better off just increasing physical damage and/or melee/attack etc damage directly especially after a certain point. Even if you only get 10% physical damage etc (and many are more than that), you would need to have 1000% increased damage before you would end up getting much more from a 10% magnitude node. It would make sense to maybe get a bit while you are getting a base bleed/poison chance, but not really focus on the nodes that boost magnitude since it's such a small amount. Poison seems even worse since it's duration is so tiny and you don't get the bonus from moving etc (although you can have multiple stacks of poison going with the right nodes etc). Pretty certain its your first one but I think you are downplaying it, its a second scalar for your damage over time so that it can be competitive with the initial hit (sort of)
so 100% increased magnitude doubles your DoT damage. If your question is isn't that silly you may as well just scale the hit I think many people have arrived at that same juncture, with it being based on the hit it actually takes a great deal of investment before you get above one hits worth for a DoT. |
