Change On Death to Debuffs

Improve game play.
On death effects should be debuffs.
When something dies it can create a pool

Frozen Puddle , reduce cold resist.
Lava, reduce fire resist.
Poison , reduce chaos etc.

None of them do direct damage but do reduce the odds of living.
They are like being hit by a debuff, but it wont kill you.

The killing blow will come from something you can see and potentially avoid.

Right now I think GGG is making a mistake having these landmines in the game.
The truth is .

1) You cant see them
2) They do way too much damage.
3) They serve no purpose but to one shot a player, normally right in a moment of feeling good about winning. which is really just a BS nut punch from the dev team
4) Having loot disappear and or losing maps from them elevates them to a damage type WAY too high for its visibility.
5) Its just a cheap game mechanic might as well insert a random death pixel in the map .. touch it and die...

I would change all death effects to debuffs.
Floor effects like burning ground or ice on the floor .. those are static elements that exist as you enter an area and would be made more deadly if standing on one and then a death effect that complements it goes off .. you will take more damage , but not from something you can't see.
