MINIONs issues
1. Spirit cost of minions. There are few moments to it:
1.1. spirit reservation for minions vs aura/meta gems. The things with we want to synergies with each other - they are concurent for same resource. It limits buildability (especialy early on) and it makes class archetype extremely hungry for spirit. Yet, with 500+ spirit it becomes much more doable, but overall it's not a design we want. How about minions reserve mana? As summoner dont want to spend a lot of mana on spells him(her)self (unless summoer gameplay is bad designed to heavily rely on summoner like right now). Still, it's not an issue itself, it's just smell not just right. 1.2. gemlevels scaling spirit reservation down with next levels. bad design also. Yet it's nice to be able to have extra minions as you progress... but in reality it just creeps earlygame (sniper is 90 spirit, skeleton is 60 spirit) while there is extreme lack of spirit in earlygame. -> Solution: remove this feature and provide all minions reservation across all their levels equal to 20 level. There is a way to increase number of minions: increase spirit and reduce reservation cost for minions. Just add more into a passive-tree. 1.3. if you think minions will become to easily accessable and/or powerful, how about increase spirit requirement for them by supports incrustated? The stronger the minion becomes - the more spirit if requires. But pls give players tools to mitigate the costs. 2. autorevive often locks player with no minions at all. Mostly due to chain-death of minions resetting the timer. Or when they despawn outscreen and reset timer. -> Make these timer into separate timers for every minion. Or give player ability to resummon them all himself. -> Also, offscree-despawned minions should not reset the timer, but instead instanty revived w/o timer (animation is a timeloss itlself). Dont punish the player when he didnt any wrong. 3. command abilities. Are not fun. Command abilities require full single cast for a summoner to command 1 minion to cast a skill. It's just not possible to command more than 4 minions w/o stacking castspeed (it's for 100% sure not a minion specialization to stack castspeed). And it's boring. -> remove or make those abilities autocast. *minion build dont want the minions to cast fancy staff, they want to be just proxy they character power into minions. Concept is just bad. 4. Pathing. -> Just make them not stuck on every doorway etc. Reduce their collision so they can swarm rooms with you. Last bumped on Dec 22, 2024, 10:39:06 AM
