Question/ Help - Ranger. I want to poison and then shoot physical dmg.

Please suggest how to best build around this idea.

I want to aplly poison at the rare/ boss, and after that shoot it with basic attack (or other physical arrow) to death. So long lasting poison would be the way to go. Stacking Toxin allows for two poisons without shorter duration. For groups Toxic Growth to add area physical dmg (or maybe later there is something better).

Now my first idea was that that I take Deadeye for the additional arrow and shoot two poison bursts (or gas arrow) at single enemy, then I shoot whatever. But from what I understand if you shoot two arrows they go in the "V" shape. So the basic attack wouldn't hit the single target twice (or both would miss him).

I didn't choose the ascendency yet and I'm, low level.
So how can I do this - best poison then shoot?

Best poison is pathfinder. Scale physical and projectile dmg. Pick skills that don't convert to another element.

For poison dmg, you'd do well with gas arrow, toxic growth, maybe vine shot. Consider herald of growth and/or plague bearer.

For your follow up physical, consider snipe, rain of arrows, spiral volley.

All poison builds I see (checked those websites) us many stacks of the poison, and poison is only/main attack, no attacking with something else.

Maybe someone have an idea if this have any sense or how to help my stupid build that I will try.

I have built a gas arrow ranger. You can shot and run, all monsters who go through the poison cloud will fall down to the ground in short time.

The trick is to get all physical damage you can that it will be converted to chaos damage.

The thing in PoE2 is poison can be stacked, and pathfinder ranger can do it up to 10 times :) with 4 ascension's points, the correct gloves and the passives.

I have to improve its supervivency but, she kill well in tier 16 maps.

You will get fun if you want to shot and run :D

What I've gathered while checking this out is
- Stacking is the only way for poison.
So yeah if I want poison it needs to stack high, or it's useless ...

But maybe you can help.
I want to shoot gas arrow for area coverage (with multiple arrow support)
What physical dmg skill I could use to shoot single targets (yellows or bosses) in the gas cloud?
