3 ascendancy point after clearing trial of chaos

Hi!

I'm a first time player (ps5), currently at lvl 48 and I 3 ascendancy points after clearing trial of chaos once. Is that normal? I thought it was 1 point per run.

I struggled a lot to clear and I failed the trial many times. Because of that I removed the stone, open and close the trial to continue with other content and move the item around in the inventory/stash many times. Also, I never closed the game and I used the sleep function on the console many times over the week.

Btw: I cleared the trial just before going into cruel difficulty at the end of act 3
