Account error when logging in from a friends house

I usually play from home, but sometimes I go to a friends house over the weekend and game there.

I noticed that at login I would get a message about logging in from a different location and I my account would get locked and I'd get an email allowing me to unlock it.

well now, I don't even get that message. Instead, I get a message saying that my password is not right for my account or sometimes it says that my account doesn't exist.

I tried changing my password through the POE2 website, but I'm still not able to log in. It doesn't recognize my old or new password.

For the record, I use my phone's wifi hotspot when I'm out at my friend's house. I don't know if that makes any difference. I used to be able to log in after the verification email to unlock my account, but now I don't even get that.
