3rd Ascendancy Trial Completed but no points

As the title says I was running a level 62 Trial of Sekhemas with another party member (BrotherNumbsay (PSN) aka BaronessZo(POE2 name)). We both completed the trial together but died at the end from Rattlecages mini volcano or mini tornado at the last second. We got the complete trial notification but could NOT enter the door to receive the ascendancy since we died. We even tried to complete a level 47 trial to see if when we get to the end it would by chance give us the points but still nothing which comes to no surprise since it said it would not grant one but still we took a chance. My only concern is if we were to get another Djinn Barya again if it would just tell us that we wont get ascendancy points like the other lower level ones in my stash.

I'm vouching for this incident. Can you confirm if another Djinn Barya with GRANTED ascendancy points will still drop even after it thinks we already "completed" the trail run?
