Boots: Move speed needs to be Implicit.
Dear fellow Exiles:
I ask that the community come together and inform GGG, even press them for what makes sense and makes the game playable: Move speed is a requirement for survival in POE2. Not having proper move speed hinders a player, preventing proper clear and creating frustration and annoyance. At this point, Move speed on boots needs to be an implicit modifier. As an affix, move speed is not guaranteed on boots. The result is crafting gone wrong and time and effort wasted. Furthermore, this affix prevents other bonuses from being rolled by players. Making move speed an implicit will allow us to roll another suffix, and have a working pair of clompers without the frustration of having to pray to Innocence almighty for RNG. Please post your comments in the replies. Last edited by Mequias#0934 on Dec 21, 2024, 10:56:09 AM Last bumped on Dec 23, 2024, 5:29:30 AM

There's been threads like this before.
I don't think many people disagree. My opinion is that we should just have higher base movement speed - maybe have an early quest grant it - and then reduce the bonuses available on boots by up to half, and also offer alternatives like faster dodge rolls. That way, it's still a crafting option, but less mandatory. Because the game feels significantly better with at least +10% ms, and if everyone wants that anyways, why not just raise the base? Zaanus:

Agree.
After comparing 20% and 0% movement speed (which in reality for me is 16% and -4% because of the armor penalty), I find that I simply throw out boots that don't give me at movement speed at least equal to what I currently have. I'm curious how many people in the endgame actually farm maps with negative movement speed, when given a choice between a strong pair of boots with no movement speed versus a weak pair that has movement speed. Maybe create an Agility Rune that gives 15% movement speed and is only usable on boots, then remove the affix version. And just by removing armor penalty to movement speed would immediately feel like a buff to base movement speed for a lot of players. |
