My Feedback to Path of Exile 2 Early Access - happy holidays fellas.
Thank you GGG for the almost complete and amazing game
Thank you in advance for your time and for reading this. I wish you all happy holidays, good health, and take care of yourselves! ------------------------------------------------------ Positive Points: - Graphics and Effects: The graphics are stunning, and the effects and animations feel incredible. It’s a pleasure to explore the game’s world and experience its visual richness. - Bosses: The bosses look top-notch and diverse. Each fight felt unique and had its own identity. - Progression: I felt consistently stronger as I progressed, which was highly motivating. Using the trade website made a huge difference, allowing me to trade 1-2 Orbs for decent gear that significantly improved my gameplay. ------------------------------------------------------ Negative Points: Now, onto the aspects that I found frustrating: 1. Story Length: Acts 3 and 6 are far too long for my liking. While the rest of the story was excellent, these two acts felt unnecessarily grindy. 2. RNG Crafting and Loot: Crafting and loot were, in my opinion, disastrous. In over 30+ hours of gameplay, I didn’t find a single piece of gear worth equipping. The only way to get decent gear was through the trade website, where I could trade for good items with just 1-2 Orbs. Without the trade system, I wouldn’t have made it this far. 3. Mini Monsters vs. Bosses: I’m now level 69, having completed the story and entered the "Endgame." - Boss fights are relatively easy, and I can almost always defeat them on the first try using mana flasks and hardly any life flasks. - Mini monsters, however, can kill me in under 1 second. - Why are mini monsters stronger than bosses? This imbalance ruins the fun for me. 4. Punishment for Death: Every death feels like a heavy slap in the face because the game penalizes you harshly: - Dying on a map means losing the map. - Dying during an Ascension run means losing your item. - Killing a rare monster and dying in the process means losing the loot. - While you’ve added many checkpoints, some maps still feel unbalanced regarding the number of checkpoints. 5. Skill Tree Overload: The massive and complex skill tree makes it feel like you’re always making the wrong choices. 6. QoL Features: - Automatic gold pickup would be an excellent feature, especially for those who purchased premium stash tabs. - No option to switch classes (e.g., from Stormweaver to Chronomancer). 7. Inventory Management: - Dropping three crossbows instantly fills your inventory. - It’s nearly impossible to actively grind without having to empty your inventory at least once per run. 8. Community Feedback: There are many other great points raised by active users that also deserve attention. ------------------------------------------------------ General Feedback: It feels like the developers haven’t played their own game enough. Yes, this is Early Access, but when mini monsters can one-shot you while final act bosses barely scratch you, it feels wrong and frustrating. Bosses should be challenging, and mini monsters should be manageable. Even though Path of Exile is a unique ARPG, the fun factor should be more important than catering exclusively to the hardcore Path of Exile 1 community. Fun should outweigh a forced slow-progression concept. Last bumped on Dec 22, 2024, 2:49:36 PM
