Chance orb bases
I'm trying to figure out how to know exactly which base white items I need in order to create targeted uniques.
I'm trying to craft a "Sandstorm Visage Chain Tiara". Do I need to use an advanced Chain Tiara with a required level in range of the Unique? This is probably a dumb question, but my teacher used to always tell me that there are no dumb questions..... only dumb people. So, any help understanding would be appreciated. Update: Level 55 101 Adv. Chain Tiara w/ item lvl 59 said that it could not increase in rarity.

" Why would you need to use and advanced chain tiara when the unique is on a (not advanced) chain tiara? You just need the same base type. Chain Tiara and Advanced Chain Tiara are different items. Furthermore, Sandstorm Visage drops from Zarokh the Eternal only, and thus cannot be chanced. Items that drop from a specific boss or location cannot be chanced, only items that are available to drop globally. Last edited by Pathological#1188 on Dec 21, 2024, 8:54:51 AM

Thank you for the info. I'm new and didn't know any of that. I assumed that in order to make the unique that you wanted you would need a similar lvl base. Also, I didn't know that you couldn't chance some uniques. Is there a good resource you could recommend that would tell me which uniques are drop only and which aren't?

" Most wiki sources will tell you if the drop is specific or not; https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Sandstorm_Visage As long as you don't use fextralife you're probably golden. As far as we know, the only thing that matters is that the base item (Chain Tiara) is the same as the base item of the unique. If you're getting a message that rarity cannot be upgraded, you're using a base item that does not have a chanceable unique attached to it.
