Another controller auto-targetting problem
I'm really struggling to understand why this game auto-targets for you.
My latest problems with this feature (on controller) are playing a sorc: 1. I have a pack of mobs in front of me where one is highlighted in red. I cast firewall whilst pointing the left-stick in their direction (or sometimes fully back if I'm walking backwards). Character immediately turns to the left and places firewall where there are no enemies at all and then turns back to the mobs. 2. Casting snap freeze. Snap freeze will go out of its way to avoid targetting the one single frozen mob right next to you. Also, this skill sometimes does the "turn left or right" thing, too. 3. I am firing at a group of mobs (again, one is highlighted in red) and a single mob (sometimes more, still way less than my targetted pack) approach from the left, right or rear. Character immediately turns to fires on new mobs. Trying to use the right stick to retarget is often hopeless because as soon as you let go the auto targetting takes over again. Also (for me, at least) it is impossible to use the right stick and hit certain buttons to try to overcome this. Possible solutions: 1. Add target lock (r3 for controller, replace showing life/mana totals). 2. Don't keep turning to new mobs unless none are currently targetted. 3. Just don't keep fighting player targetting inputs in general. Last bumped on Dec 22, 2024, 3:09:46 PM

Update, so I apologise to ggg, I completely missed the fact that there is a skill that you can equip on your skillbar to toggle the auto targetting on/off. Reading posts on this, seems like I'm not the only one!
So, this does actually turn off all of this auto-targetting stuff for anyone that also missed it (although you still can't seem to target enemies that are, for example, frozen). On controller, we still need to be able to map this R3, though, which is not currently an option. Last edited by Ferdelizer#3373 on Dec 22, 2024, 3:19:53 PM
