Linked accounts with no shared benefits

Sorry to vent on here, but this is annoying the shit out of me. I've emailed support and the first anwser was "provide us the Steam purchase ID" wich was already sent in a previous email, and the last one "It looks like this was not a successful purchase".

I bought the King of Faridun supporter pack from Steam, on the day that the pre-download patch was available I could not download it. I read somewhere that in order to be able to download, I should have a PoE account linked with my Steam account. So I went to PoE website to do it, when I tried to create an account with my email, it told me that I already had and account (I have an old account that I forgot about it), so I restored my password, logged in, and linked my Steam and PoE accounts, after I did it, my EA access was given and I was able to download the game.

On launch day, I started the game and after hitting the "login from Steam" button and the game launched, I can't remember to be honest if there was a create character button or it jumped straight to the hanging cutscene where you choose your class. All the hype and anxiety to start soon and plus the fact that I was prepping my table and stuff before starting my gaming session made me not pay that much attention.

Once I created my warrior and played a little bit, I pressed K to get my MTX and pet from the supporter pack but the store was down at the launch, reported by many players in global chat and Reddit, which made me think that it would be normal with EA launch day.

Apparently, I had some coins on my old PoE account, which made me believe that it was the coins from the pack, and I used to buy some tabs, even bought more coins to buy some MTX, after that I got the Twitch rewards and stuff. After a couple of days I thought it was really weird that the King of Faridun pack was still not available to me and I went to global chat and Reddit again to check if someone else was having the same problem.

Nobody had the exact same problem but after reading a couple of posts I figured out what happened. I have two accounts linked, madddik#2858 (PoE) and maddik#4714 (Steam), and the King of Faridun supporter pack is available only in one, maddik#4714 (only reading at Reddit that I've noticed the dropdown menu on the select character screen).

Every game that I've played until now, if the accounts are linked all the goods are shared between them, so I would never think that something like this would happen. And if that's the case, why was there no option to choose which one I would like to create my character? Plus, the fact that I've bought, downloaded and launched the game from Steam, why was that account not selected as my main login option?

So now here is the problem, I have 1000 coins and the King of Faridun supporter pack at the maddik#4714 (Steam) account and the Titan that I've created (lvl 65), 640 coins, all the Twitch rewards, plus a lot of stash tabs on the other, madddik#2858 (PoE).

I'm afraid of refunding it from Steam to buy it again in the game and getting banned for a wrong reason, I'm really not playing that much because I don't know if I will have to start from scratch to use the pack that I bought, and really torn between the things that are splitted between both accounts.

I do believe you can merge mtx to one account but its a one time only thing but points wont transfer also you'd have to contact support to do this and just a heads up I'm at 28 days waiting for support to finish my mtx transfer (xbox to pc) gl exile


(also don't send multiple emails it'll just put you farther back in the queue)

Yep, I have the same problem, you can merge accounts, but they do not share points. What is the point of merging then?

It should be simple, just move the pack and coins to the account that I'm playing that everything is solved. What drives me mad is that I was clear what the problem was but the support responses made no sense at all. How it was not a sucessful purchase if I'm able to use it in my Steam account? C'mon.

Exactly, and the ironic part about it is that if I didn't had to merge the acccounts to be able to pre load the game I would never remember that I had an old PoE1 account with coins and premium stash tabs and would be playing happily with the pack that I've bought.

I am in the same boat too. When you log in, an account sign in option would also solve the problem, but it just reconnects automatically to an older account. It makes no sense. Merging account is also a joke.
