Help understanding stat rolls on items?
Hello,
I've been noticing that my lvl 59 required STR/DEX gloves or just STR gloves will show that they can roll up to 10 Max Life, but my lvl 51 required gloves will have up to + 119 Max Life. That's over 10 times as much for a lower level item! Can anyone explain why the life rolls on items with STR requirements are so low? On a related note, I notice my skill gems will double in mana cost but only increase their damage by 30-40%. Is there any point to leveling up the skill gems when they just get more and more inefficient (with higher reqs) as you level them? Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 11:55:09 AM

" They aren't. All gloves can roll the same life rolls. Regarding mana. 40% of base isn't much in the beginning of the game, but once your base (weapon) is starting to be noticeable, so will leveling your gems. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Dec 19, 2024, 12:58:38 AM

Perhaps an image would help illustrate what I'm observing. The DEX item on the left, when I hold down ALT, shows that the MAX Life roll could have been 100-119. For the STR/DEX item on the right, it shows the MAX Life roll could have been anywhere from 7-10. I see this massive discrepancy repeating itself over and over, and I just want to understand why. Am I misunderstanding the number range I'm seeing when I hold the inspect button? (ALT on PC) Last edited by B33S#1080 on Dec 19, 2024, 1:33:23 AM

Modifiers have a tiers (this is from PoE 1, i think its similar for PoE2)
Hale +(3-9) to maximum Life Healthy +(10-24) to maximum Life Sanguine +(25-39) to maximum Life Stalwart +(40-54) to maximum Life Stout +(55-69) to maximum Life Robust +(70-84) to maximum Life Rotund +(85-99) to maximum Life Virile +(100-114) to maximum Life Athlete +(115-129) to maximum Life Higher itemlevel - higher tier CAN appear, but its random. Thank you very much! That was driving me crazy (to the point I started making false assumptions)
