Can't exit failed Trial of Sehkemas on controller

Once failed, there's no option to exit on controller, I have to press escape (keyboard) and go back to character screen to get back out.

On couch co-op, the second person can press the option button to return to character selection / login, but yeah, we ran into the same issue.
