Detonate dead problem
Sometimes i have a problem to detonate corpse near me.
For example, on Augury (all corpse that i can't detonade is highlighted green): 1 2 3 In Ritual with fog debuff i have same issue. I don't now it's bug or my problem with mechabic of this skill. Last bumped on Jan 8, 2025, 8:03:43 PM

I have the same exact issue and the weirder thing is that sometimes my spell echo will go off but the original cast doesn't. I have a feeling it has something to do with your sightline since it only really ever happens to me in small and crowded maps like towers and augury. Bumping this because it's been an issue since release and I thought they'd have fixed it. It's gotten me killed about 50 times

It feels like it's requiring some kind of weird line of sight to be able to be cast, but like you guys pointed out. You can be standing right next to corpses (or minions with sacrifice) and it won't let you cast it. It's super frustrating. Compounding this with the eternity that it takes for DD to actually go off, you have to wait a full 1-2 seconds to even find out that you didn't actually cast it before trying again.
They REALLY need to change it so casting DD will detonate the closest corpse (within some radius) to your cursor. As others pointed out, most of the time it's actually failing to cast DD on the cursor (even though you're fairly close to a viable target), it casts DD consuming the mana but doesn't detonate anything, and then spell echo repeats and is able to find a nearby corpse just fine. This has been happening to me too, just randomly doesn't work, but it is happening more frequently as of late, it is not just in ritual or any particular mechanic, it is a constant across the whole of the game, sometimes abilities just do not work, the mana (and life cost for me as a bloodmage) are used up, im moving around not stunned or anything, and go from killing monsters and tanking on death effects to suddenly nothing works and get killed cause i cant use my skills to kill anything to get any life globes or grim remnants. I do not think this is just for detonate dead either, ive had this happen with spark also. Some of my friends who do not use detonate dead or spark have complained too, this seems to just be a widespread bug.

I've died in far too many logbook maps, waystones, etc... from this terrible bug. I turned on manual targeting and that doesn't fix it. I tried auto, that doesn't fix it. I just don't get why my character locks onto a corpse and there isn't a reliable way to get him to stop trying to hit that one, over and over and over again.
They also need to fix the targeting on this spell with range. Sometimes it targets 8-10m out and sometimes it will only target at my feet. They also need to add a setting on the spell to allow us to have it prioritize targeting minions instead of corpses. I absolutely hate dying to a bug.
