Early Access Key redeem

Hey, I got the Liberator of Wraeclast Supporter Pack and decided to gift it to a friend who's planning to play on PS5. How does he redeem this key on the console? He tried through the site under SHOP > REDEEM KEY, but on the PS5 it says he needs to pay to play. I'm playing on Steam. Can you guys help me out? Thanks!
