"Failed to send whisper because: The operation timed out"

For the last 2-3 hours I've been unable to whisper anyone in game and I assume people have been unable to whisper me. I'm getting the above error when trying to buy items.

ANY idea what the hells going on? It's put a complete hault to my trading and I've missed a ton of items because of it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
