[Acolyte of Chayula] Chaos Inoculation Monk
Acolyte of Chayula - Chaos Inoculation Monk
Greetings! I'd like to get some feedback for a build I'm working on with my monk. Focusing mainly on crit, building charges, and having a decent defense rating. Link for the build: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/passive-tree/zv6nr0mx Main Abilities: 1) Tempest Flurry 2) Hand of Chayula - Sniper's Mark and Conductivity 3) Bell - Use support 4) Mantra of Destruction 5) Charged Staff 6) Flicker Strike Buffs: 1) Wind Dancer - Evasion boost 2) Into the Breach - Regen and damage boost from flames 3) Combat Frenzy - Extra form of power charge generation Before going off about how bad Mantra of Destruction is, this ability can be used on the Bell thus causing you to get 16 hits of added chaos damage. This is how I use the ability. TBH only the Wind Dancer spirit buff is really necessary but I kept combat frenzy in case a freeze or electrocute happens. Hand of Chayula is the main source of power charge generation. Increased attack speed allows this to generate faster than combat frenzy. With the nerf to re-freezing bosses, I see this as being a better way to consistently generate max power charges. Rotations: Weave HoC and Tempest Flurry together until getting max power charges. Make sure Charged Staff is up, hit MoD, drop Bell, Flicker Strike. Alternative: First -> HoC, Tempest flurry, repeat until max charges, Charged Staff Then -> HOC, Tempest flurry, MOD, Bell. Repeat this 3-4 times within one stunlock (very easy to do) This allows for some big burst windows. If time allows, run around and pick up some purple flames for added chaos damage. Keystone Passives: Chaos Inoculation - Immune to chaos damage is huge Acrobatics - we get so much evasion rating boosts that we should be able to offset the 70% evasion rating reduction Resonance - Easier time generating power charges Offense Bonuses: +106% damage after crits (always up) +120% Attack Damage against rare and unique monsters (low life gives +50%) +70% attack speed (possibly more depending on end game stats with dex) +76% bonus crit chance +300% bonus crit damage Defense Bonuses: Mana Leech is instantly applied from flames. Flames give 14% back Mana Leech is applied to Energy Shield +72% mana leech +327% Increased Evasion Rating +212% Increased Energy Shield + 60% after power charge use +30% increased defenses from quarterstaff I'm not sure if these defenses will be enough. I'd be using an Evasion Body Armor and likely Energy Shield everywhere else. Also I should probably pick up Eternal Youth and drop one of the crit damage bonus nodes. Open to criticism or feedback on whether I'm too high/low on certain stats. Last edited by Planbee#4952 on Dec 18, 2024, 10:18:47 AM Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 1:30:59 AM

Nice, I am currently working my way through red maps on my AoC monk in SSF.
I think the evasion might be a little low but it would just have to be by feel, I am considering CI but I was going to maybe try some stuff with the trigger spells and doing some type of Chaos DoT stuff while still being attack based... or going more just on hit and maybe scaling a poison possibly I am not sure. Benefit of CI would mean you would not need to take the chaos resist nodes on Ascendancy tree No CI, I dont see how you pass them up. I like what you have done, great post and will help me as I finish to round out my character! |

Just looked at the planner, actually almost same as mine.
1st thing you should change is take one point off, of the ES/EV node up top and put it in shimmering in the starting ES/EV node wheel its way too good. You have a lot of investment in palm strike stuff which might be fine I have not tried it yet but for 1 skill im just not using much except bosses really atm it didnt seem worth it. Id rather unspecc that and travel down and get that big Crit damage wheel thats what i did and my DPS felt way better. |

Hi! I'm very interested in your build. Can you add a tree with the rest of the ascension points. And also support gems and screenshots of your equipment.

1/ acolyte is trash atm
2/ flicker strike is pretty bad compared to other options you have with staff Theres no realy support for melee chaos build. You dont have any good melee chaos ability and theres not even staff with default chaos damage. I have tried, i ended up switching to chaos bow as you can actualy use weapon chaos skills and theres chaos damage bow. And if you want to go CI melee, you realy should spec invoker for that sweet free armor. Last edited by DwaneDibbley#4615 on Dec 19, 2024, 1:32:48 AM
