Atlas Design / Scaling
Thesis: While the Atlas looks nice, the tower design is cool, pathing through the Atlas is fun, I'm afraid this design will work porely long-term because you completely lose track of where you are on the Atlas map, where you wanted to go 2 hours ago, where your important fix points are.
I am not very far into endgame, currently on the tier 13 waystone quest. But already I am losing track of where I am on the Atlas map. South of my starting position, north, west? Zooming out does not help much. Now imagine running hundreds, long-term even thousands of waystones. What kind of experience will this deliver? I fear it will truly feel like the path of an exile - completely lost on the Atlas. While that's a nice pun that goes along well with the theme of the game I don't think it's intended and the experience, I worry, is not a satisfying one. Would be interested in how other players think about this and if anyone can share insight into how GGG imagine very long-term Atlas progression will work and feel?
