The purpose for trigger setups

Exploring the trigger changes after the slightly cheaper re-specs. Taking all the energy nodes, and the invoker more energy node, with the energy gain support, to see how often it pops.

On normal/magic packs you're lucky to get 1 or 2 casts of a normal cast time skill from a decent pack before they die. The skills basically don't exist when interacting with normal mobs. Using a setup specifically to propagate effects doesn't work. If your main skill has to do the killing you're not a trigger build. As a support option it barely functions as a way to charge gain or setup combos even with maximum investment.

On the flip side, when a boss shows up you can drop a 300 energy nuke every second as long as your mana holds. It's the same if not better at it than it was before.

It does leave me to wonder what GGG's intended purpose for all the trigger gems is. With the new power balancing even with heavy investment they're lacklustre at best most of the time. But absolutely destroy bosses in a way they seem to be opposed to.

The purpose is clear.

But the 300 IQ person responsible for balancing this, shifted it from completely OP, to complete GARBAGE in one day.
