"Increased energy shield from focus" no effect when Eldritch battery is skilled
Not sure if this is intended behaviour but equipping a sapphire jewel with this mod and any focus results in no change to either mana or energy shield (with everlasting gaze).
The jewel calculations for extra energy shield from this mod should be converted to mana via Eldritch battery (and also back to ES when everlasting gaze azure amulet is equipped) Last bumped on Jan 26, 2025, 1:15:51 AM

" All sources of increased except local item mods are applied after conversion. Only %increased mana mods from the skill tree or jewel effects will affect the EB converted ES from your focus. Any %increase ES on the focus itself will be converted to mana. |

Doesn't seem to be affecting either; no change to either mana or ES when I unsocket a gem with that from passive tree.

Seems like an Bug, ES and Mana dont change when i unsocket this gem, even the ES on the Focus itself dont change. So the gem have Zero effect atm

It seems like a bug, have the same issue.
If it says "increase es", it should do it, that's it. PoE nowadays looks more and more like a fork server with tons of custom weird experimental stuff rather than original game with carefully thought out balance brough live to players.

I confirm I have the same behaviour when equpping a Jewel.
When Eldritch battery is taken, "Increased energy shield from equipped focus" won't have any effect either in ES or Mana |

same issue for me

The first response already answers why this "issue" is occuring - and explains how it's working as intended.

it isn't converting to mana, is why it's not workign as intended.

Unfortunetly, not a bug. It only seems like that due to the change of when conversion happens in calculations compared to PoE1.
In PoE1, the conversion happened in the middle (so in this situation of converting all Energy Shield to Mana, it would increase ES by any modifiers, then convert, then increase by mana modifiers). In PoE2, it happens at the start (so it converts ES to mana, then increase by mana modifiers), so there isn't any point where ES modifiers can apply. With the change to Eldrich Battery being a full conversion, rather than just applying to a different metric, taking it means that %ES modifiers are no longer going to apply, only flat increases. |
