I am writing this feedback, because the latest patch notes makes me questions whetever GGG understands my grievances agianst them and their design and implementation in POE2.


- I love POE2 -

I find the difficulty of the POE2 campaign extremely enjoying and satisfiying, even when I died multiple times it just makes what I do and accomplish with the character matter.

Furthermore, I have great hope for the endgame campaign and find it decently ejoyable in it's Early Acces version.

- Rant on the Trials -

I sincerely think POE2 could be the greatest arpg in this next generation.

However, I find the design and implementation of the Trials (Sekhema and Chaos) are deeply flawed and very devisive to the community.

Where a bigger part than the population you think literally hates them. Not just dislike as some did for the Labyrinth in POE1, but literal hate (myself included).

The Trials feel like having you stabbing me with a halberd in my stomach everytime I have to go in there. And reading the latest patch notes makes me question whetever you understand our grievances agianst them.

Reading the patch notes was like having this mortal stomach wound from the halberd, where I am currently lying on the ground trying to hold in my organs, and you coming to me with a bandate saying I should try putting on a few to see if that helps, which was very aggravating to me.

Overall feedback:

Character death:
- Character death removes all progession (30-40 minutes wasted) and I am forced to waste an additional 20-40 minutes on trying to farm for a key to redo the trial. This happened several times, so basically I have wasted 4-6 hours total for my 3 ascendancies and I hated every minute of it.

Extreme randomness by negative modifiers introduced compared to Labyrinth:
- Both Trials have significant modifiers introduced that lowers your characters chance of succes, and they are completely random in Trial of Chaos, and you have to choose between random modifiers in Trial of Sekhema.

Atleast in Labyrinth there was almost no randomness, not making it chance whetever you will be wasting 40-60 minutes of your life if you die, but mostly it was your own skill and character strenghth. But here it can be entirely on chance whetever the trial will be easy or hard. Making it possible to waste a key just if you get unlucky forcing another 40-60 minutes farm that feels awful.

An example is a lightning ground aoe modifier, making it take me 20 minutes to complete a round because the statue I had to follow in trial of chaos was almost impossible to do with the ground aoe's.

Relics system in Trial of Sekhema:
- Rewarding players who are very good at Trial of Sekhema with Relics, making it even easier to do, and consequently just that much harder for people who just want to get in and get their ascendancy and get out, because they hate the mechanics.

To get the 'Relics' they mostly only drop in the trial agian forcing you to do them and rewarding players who likes doing them significantly, and makes the feeling awful for those of us who just want their ascendancy and never see the trials ever agian.

It is extremely troubling to me, why I am being forced to play them with the possibility of losing 40-60 minutes work at any time if I either die to the final boss (which happened 6 times total for the 3 ascendancies). If that was not enough you are then forcing me to farm 40-60 minutes for another trial key to try them agian, even though I dislike everything about them.

Honor system in Trial of Sekhema:
- Honor system in Trial of Sekhema can make me pay by losing all progresion when I die for a small error I made in the beginning.

My wife comes in and ask a question = I lose honor, my kids or parents come to say hello = I step into abit of fire I lose honor, merlin forbid my dog comes in for a scratch behind the ear and I lose honor.

All the time losing any work I had done. And when I die the 30-40 minutes are just spent are totally wasted.

Please for the love of POE, increase the unique drops for those who want to do them and make it possible for me to skip allmost all the mechanics I do not want to do to get my ascendancy. Maybe just a portal to the boss room? I get my ascendancy but no loot and make the loot very good for those who actually want to complete them as intented?

Do not make me get gatekept, having to farm the mechanic over and over. Something I thought you understood since you purposely made each league mechanics an option of choice (want you want to do).

The Labyrinth atleast had very little randomness, and it did not significantly reward players by making them easier for those who are good at them anyway (Relics).

No explanation to the trial mechanics or boss mechanics (honor, relics etc.):
- There are no guidance to complete each boss before you face them, so for the harder once, you are forced to experience that you spent 45 minutes to try and complete it just for it being lost, because you do not understand the mechanics as there is no explanation before you face the boss.

Trial of Sekhema is in act2 and significantly favours roguelike or ranged characters. Making it almost impossible for a melee with a shield to complete. I do not even know how, I had to change my character to ranged. And before you do the trial there is no explanation to what any of the mechanics you are about to face are. Even explaining what you have to do.

yeah even with the patch it does not make any kind of fun.
I agree, don´t know anyone who likes these.
The worst part is the honor system.
The honor system should not be "fixed", it should be deleted. It makes no sense and goes directly against so many other more fundamental aspects of the game.
Honor should be like a score multiplier for better end rewards not something that just fails the run. That way it's still something people can interact with/try to do well with but is not a hard block to just finishing normally.

Fire damage from trial of sekhemas still causing way more honor than what must be intended. One fire orb from the slow spiral hit me for over 1000 honor. Before that, the fire turret from a Risen Magi appeared to deal around 1000 honor while barely touching my health
Couldn't agree more. POE2 is fun but these trials are insane and not fun. The 3rd and 4th trials are just insane and any minor mistake will cost you + 30 to 40 minutes down the tubes. Worst part of the game and spoils any progression one attempts to do. I kind of given up on these trials but affects progression specially when one is on level 80+. Hope they reconsider making major changes to the trials. Bring back the Labs instead.
