Socket rune button prompt missing/can't socket runes

With the latest patch the prompt to socket runes went missing on PS5 and I can't socket any runes in a slot. I tried dragging the slot manually over the item and it didn't work either

I did some testing and it looks like if a piece of gear has more than one socket, it won't let you socket past the first one

You can, but you gotta drag the rune in it. Hitting square like before doesnt work since patch

the prompt to press square to socket is gone for me, but I can socket two frost runes into a scout's vest. +24% cold resistance

The second sockets I tried to add runes to but wasn't able to were added with currency (a vaal orb and the normal currency for armor) so maybe that's involved?

After selecting the rune and going for the item, hold X while moving right. This will move the cursor to the second empty rune
|
