Ranger aim mechanics for poe2

why am I shooting at something in the very back of a pack of monsters and not the ones directly in front of me that I am aiming for. I'm on controller because there's no option to allow me to use keyboard and mouse. Is there anyway to improve the rangers aim mechanics for controller or can you add the ability to use mouse and key or controller for console players tired of getting killed by mobs because I can't hit what I want to actually hit love the game for close range characters but anytime I'm on ranger it's horrid and I usually regret even getting on the character after 10 mins
