Gain # Life per Enemy Killed impact on ES?

Hello friends. I have a quick question here, and wonder if anyone can help me.

A friend of mine is saying that the mod Gain # Life per Enemy Killed, adds ES?
I am using CI hence i have no life. Im thinking that this mod is useless for me.

In POE 1 there was a specific Add # ES on hit etc, hence my question.
