WHERE ARE THE CRISIS FRAGMENTS

I've been travelling in a straight line for three days now, unlocking towers along the way, there are no crisis fragment bosses.

Want to know too, I am lvl 90, did a lot of T15 with modifiers, visit a lot of the atlas map, and didn't see any fragment yet. I even did a lot of T1 to rush to discover the map faster, but nothing. This is so annoying.
This is pretty old but if anyone finds this, they're just rare. You'll eventually come across a citadel and that's where the bosses are that drop them.

I heard they spawn near each other, and using t14/15's in towers might help find them. Both of those are speculation, and I have no idea if they're true.
I've encountered an "Iron Citadel" today and met with the Count Grenor boss from previously in the campaign. It gave me 2 Ancient Crisis Fragments.

Its a random spawn from the atlas
I'm starting to agree with some other people:

T0 encounters with end-game should be "quests" that can be deterministically encountered. [Think of Eater of Worlds & Searing Exarch quests when finishing atlas]

Future encounters should, more or less, occur periodically and not be subject to wild RNG swings. The keys for T1, T2, etc. bosses that you find should be tied directly to your Atlas choices and should be for that one tier of boss encounter only.

This way someone that wants to buy a T1 key doesn't have to compete with someone that wants to do a T5 key because you need a separate type of key for each encounter.
I hit 91, never saw 1 interesting tower. Cleared t16s for a few days. Quit cause it's just the same maps over and over and over zzzz.
I've posted this in similar threads a few times, hope it helps.

Re Citadels, I have the feeling they only start spawning X units away from the Burning Tower thing. So if you explore everything around your start location in a giant circle (like I did) it takes forever to find one, however once you have progressed far enough out from the center, they start spawning every screen or so.

I think if you were to just pick a direction from the start and head out, you would start finding them much sooner.

Could be wrong but that's how it feels to me.
That's probably good advice. Once you've finished all your base quests just strike out in one direction and hope for the best.

There are YouTube vids implying that maybe following a coast is a good move but I think 50% of that is trying to look too hard that you're imagining patterns that aren't necessarily representative of the whole.
go straight in one direction you'll start seeing lots of them after 75 ish nodes. Ive got 10 or so citadelles within 30 nodes after clearing 75 in one direction
