Unable to go into a map unless I back out to character select first

If I try to go into a map as normal, it will load for 4 seconds before crashing back to the login screen. I have noticed that if I back out to character select first, I am able to enter the map *usually*. I say usually because I just did that, while in a party, and that crashed me back to login. So I think it's more complicated than that, whatever this is.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
