Console (PS5) Request: Revamp the chat/trade/invite system

I want this to be considered consructive feedback not just a rant. I truly love playing POE2. While it is frustrating to die at 5% on a boss because I rolled a fraction of a second to slow and get 1 shot. I do really enjoy the challenge and it makes me a better gamer as a result. Not to mention the rush of excitement/adrenaline you get when you finally beat a 2-3 minute boss fight after a dozen or so deaths.

I know on Console you can press the menu button to pause the game and then press L2 to chat. Although the Hold L2 to chat is frustrating. It would be far more simple to just have it be accessed by using the arrow keys or the Left stick navigation (similar to scrolling through you inventory). Annoyingly that is the only way, it seems, that I can chat. There is an open chat key bind you can do but pressing it does nothing.

I really think the whole social, party, trading, chat functions need to be looked at again for console. It is very clunky.

For example, to trade with someone I must:

1. accept an invite
2. To accept the invite I must press a button to open the Game Paused menu
3. scroll down and click on the social menu
4. press R1 to get to the party menu
5. Scroll right to accept the invite
6. Navigate to the player in the party menu
7. Click on warp to player
8. Assuming they initiate the trade, I click the button to accept that the trade button can appear (this in particular feel totally unnecessary)
9. After the trade button appears I have to scroll left to click on the accept trade button despite the fact that it say press X to accept trade (I shouldn't have to scroll the selection highlight to the button if it says press X).
10. Then to send a courteous "TY GL HF" I have to click the menu pad
11. Then hold L2 to open chat (while typing this I did notice a short cut not noted on the HUD, so this is a PSA to all: instead of pressing L2 to just open the chat then holding L2 to type into the chat window you can hold L2 and it will open chat menu with the chat menu ready to let you type)
12. Then i have to scroll up click on the person's name.
13. Scroll down to click wisper
14. Click in the chat window to pop up the on screen keyboard (I haven't got around to buying the PS5 controller keyboard)
15. Type in my message
16. Press X to send
17. The click the Game Paused menu button
18. Scroll down and select the social menu
19. Press R1 to navigate to the party menu (it might default here if you're in a party I don't remember)
20. Scroll down to click leave party

Yes, to those in the peanut gallery I do know that there are other ways to accomplish the above (such as whispering the player directly from the party menu before leaving the party it doesn't really make it any less clunky).

Having to do the above everytime I want to trade a single item in the game is huge frustration and really takes away from time actually playing and enjoying this wonderful game. So while I don't have a silver bullet suggested answer to make this better I know i cannot function this way in the long run.

I think the 2 biggest suggestions are:
1. Allow the ability to accept invites and trades directly from the pop up rather than having to navigate somewhere else or scroll around in order to accept it.
2. Allow the ability to use arrow to navigate to and through the chat window.


*edit - I just noticed that you can use the left stick to navigate to the character image on the left to accept the invite instead of having to navigate all the way to the party menu. It is not intuitive in the least that this is an option. I still believe this area of the game needs to be looked at, but at least it is a little easier.


PS - having the ability to edit the game text size (not just the chat text size) would be incredibly helpful for those playing from the couch rather than a couple feet from the screen (which is why I play on Console instead of PC). I have 20/20 vision and still have to squint or lean forward a bit sometimes to read some of the smaller text. The large size chat text option is very easy to read from the couch. Please also take this suggestion into consideration.

I absolutely agree, please update it for the console users, it's a complete disaster...

It looks like this has been stealth fixed. I don't recall seeing any patch notes about this fix but the key bind does actually seem to work now. THANK YOU!

Make a desktop app you message with and stuff like battle.net does for diablo it is better when you can message on pc and play on ps5 at the same time.

they need to get microtransacrion working on playstation and pc.its great having to buy stash tabs and cosmetic multiple times and them not work right . wtf is a remove only tab
