A bit confused on endgame maps
I just got to endgame and know nothing about it. So i tried my first map and died, i then retried the map and killed all the elites that the minimap pointed out to me, but then nothing happened... i thought maybe cause i died so it didn't officially complete. So i went to the next map down the same path. I also killed the 1 yellow that the minimap indicated and again nothing. no confirmation that i completed the map. Is this intended or am i missing something?

Purely from the information you posted the only thing that comes to my mind is: Usually there is more than one rare monster in a map. There may be more of these yellow skull icons on your map. Is it possible that you missed one?
Also the icons appear after some time. They are not displayed from the beginning. When you have successfully finished a map you will be displayed a rectangular popup in the center bottom of your screen that says "Map completed" or something similar. Another thing to to, you could check the remaining monsters in the map. When you display the overlay map (default tab), on the right side there is some information. You can see the map modifiers in blue text and above that in yellow/golden text should be a line "Monster remaining". This can be more then 50 or if fewer then it states the number of monsters left in that area. You could try to full clear and check if you get a different result. Or if it states more than 50, just keep looking around if you can find another rare monster. But maybe I misunderstood and you meant something else completely. After you left map 1 and opened map 2, was map 1 shown as a green dot on the map? Completed maps should be displayed green, failed ones red. On the top left of the map you have a legend showing what icon means what. I hope that helps. |

"Is it possible that you missed one?"
Its possible, but i checked all over the map and on the minimap didn't show any other icons for yellow mobs. "you could check the remaining monsters in the map. When you display the overlay map (default tab), on the right side there is some information. You can see the map modifiers in blue text and above that in yellow/golden text should be a line "Monster remaining". This can be more then 50 or if fewer then it states the number of monsters left in that area." I knew about this tab button for info but i didn't check the "monsters remaining" part, i only read "map complete" at the very bottom, but i'll check it again later when i play. "After you left map 1 and opened map 2, was map 1 shown as a green dot on the map?" Yes, the 1st map turned green, but only after i started on the next map down the same line. So meaning, after i thought i killed all the monsters, the map was still yellow, showing that it was still in progress but it allowed me to go to the next map so i did and when i checked back afterwards, the 1st map was now green and the 2nd map is now "in progress". The 2nd map only showed 1 monster though, but i'll check again maybe i missed one and i'll check tab to see how many monsters remaining. But like i said, the 1st map gave me no indication after i cleared all the room and it allowed me to continue past it. Last edited by Stuka80#1427 on Dec 16, 2024, 11:17:32 AM

" I am not sure what happened with the indication for map completion. What I do know is, that as long as you have portals open to a map it will say "in progress". Only after after you open portals to another map the status of the previous map will update on the Atlas. In other words you successfully cleared the first map. And I would assume also the second map (if it turned green after opening another one). |

Yea so i thought i completed the first map, but i wonder why it didn't notify me with the popup in the bottom center that you pointed out. I was looking everywhere on the screen including the bottom UI so i would've seen that popup if it came up. And again it seems to be doing it on the 2nd map as well. I haven't done a 3rd map down the chain since i logged off afterwards but i will recheck it again with the info you provided, thanks for the help.
