one shot

with max res (81% in fire), CI and 7k es....how a am I still getting one shot? Movement in the game is so clunky.

They want you to dodge roll everything lol
I am so SICK of getting one shotted in maps. How is this fun in any way shape or form. Explain the logic where I can get one shot in maps and can't get a retry.

Well resistances can be lowered by ennemies so 6% over limit is probably not that safe on high tier Endgame . So that leaves you with those 7K of "life" but also got not mitigation from Block/Evasion/Armor and probably no damage transfer to DoT/Mana instead of direct hit so that's why you die .
i tried several characters so far and there is only 100% hp or 0 hp, rarepy anything in between.

i mean ok, boss mechanics that are at least somewhat telegraphed, sure let them one shot.
sometimes i just get randomly one tapped by some ranged mobs or some mobs that speed runs at you and hit you twice and die. doesnt happen that open but it is quite annoying

That's because it is calculated by formulas and not playtested. PoE suffers from the same issue, but at least the tree gave you the chance to minimise the risk.

PoE2 doesn't offer that, your best mitigation is ES and MoM. Sorc gets tankier than any warrior out there

This is one of the features that caused me to shelve the game until 1.0.

The damage scalling is beyond me. You can be deleting an entire map, and then have thousands of life and shield zeroed in a single shot out of no where.

I think a good rule of design is that you shouldnt want monsters without a certain level, outside of full bosses, to be able to one shot players.

I think they wanted to do so many things a lot of one and done mechanics got into the game its going to be near impossible4 to balance them out of the game while keeping actual challenge there.
