Staffs feel vastly inferior against wand/shield

The shield gives so much more needed defences with the additional block and all the resistances that it feels stupid to use a staff. Wand/shield is mandatory for how difficult the game is.

Please give the staff either block as well or some other defences. Maybe bring back Spell Suppression but exclusively for staff, like block is for shields?

But at the moment, staffs feel bad. The only useful purpose I'm using is having them on the weapon swap to cast Sigil of Power with extra area increase and skill duration from the passive tree.

Staff right now feels terrible to play, there's no benefit using it opposed to wand + focus or wand + shield.

Staffs skills (besides chimming for Sigil of Power) are lacking, they're bad and there's literally no reason to use them. (I feel that way about most of the wand and staff skills tho). Staffs should be way more offensive oriented than it is now. For some builds (if not all of them), for example, having a staff with +200% spell dmg vs a wand with 100% + focus, you will obviously choose the wand, because:

1 - You can get + 100% spell from focus (even +2 spells)
2 - You can also get defensive stats from a focus while maintaining some of the offensive ones.


So, in my oppinion, staff should be buffed to the point that it is more appealing to choose than a wand if you want a offensive character and staff skills (even some wand skills) need to be actually useful.

Yeah. You can get better stats just by using wand+focus or dual-wield wand. The only reason to go for staff is, if you want to focus on the basic attack of one staff. That's the only thing I find staff superior in. Shooting 7 ice-shards that can shotgun with no mana cost can be promising.

That said, before staff gets buffed, melee needs some love first.

Yeah I am pretty sure there is no scenario where a staff is better than wand and shield/focus. So staves are literally useless right now unless you get a decent one while levelling and have nothing else to use.
