Path of Dodge Roll 2-Backpedal Edition

I have had a bit of play time. Some with my GF in couch co op, some solo. Spent some time trying new classes in act 1. About 30 or so hours total.

So far the experience is "meh" think I will pass.

The dodge roll mechanic is bland, unilateral, and just not exciting. Went from a all these options from POE 1 to this slow, pedantic, 1 button forced mechanic. "No more 1 Button builds guys!" Except for the dodge roll. But its ok because its the "vision" of the trio!

Basic combat is very bland. Find a pack, try and slow it down as you run away, try and freeze it, run away, try and do some damage, run away. Kill the mob, move to next pack, rinse and repeat. Not really what I was expecting with all the hype, waiting, delays, promises, etc., etc. Sprinkle in some dodge rolling for some flavorless pizazz. Which if what I have seen and heard this is pretty much the tone of the game. In which case I am not interested.

The act 1 boss is super spammy on AOE that's hard to avoid. The red circle dropping from the roof thing seems like its unavoidable, and if it is then I am too slow on reaction time to pull it off. Not really what I want to deal with. To the point I just quit. The game play is bland, flavorless crap that doesn't make me interested in playing, learning, trying.

The skill gem system has a nice point in that the links are not attached to the gear anymore. But the reliance on finding gems to level up my gems is crap. Its a joke. Its not fun. Its not interesting.

The skill tree is a mess with tons of uninteresting nodes.

The whole early access has actually been a big disappointment. Maybe in a couple of years they might make it good or something, wont hold my breath. Maybe in another 10-20 years POE 3 or what ever might be good.
