Counting The Minutes Until We Get Templar
Warrior is fun but I cannot simply bonk, I must smite.

I'm more waiting for the sword, axe and spear skills so we can get some variety in melee because the mace skills are kinds lame except a few

" I'm really looking forward to trying out spears. |

dunno what to tell about templar , since main weapon is flair
but yeah we need some holy spells |
|
" I hadn't heard that, but it would help explain why the (current?) scepters are all geared towards minion builds. Flails are bad*** so no complaints. |

can't wait for druid or huntress. both look like an interesting mix of melee/ranged. hopefully they only weeks to a month away

Classes and playstyles tied so much to the weapon isn't good.
Templar should be able to use staffs as well and do some bashing skills that should be open for every bashing weapon. You go sword? Of course some holy skill can be used, but also general slash skills that can be used with axe. You go for the rapier? It shares some skill with "all piercing melee" (so with knife and spear), but have some unique ones. Etc. |

" I understand what you mean, though I don't believe that what we're seeing is the finished system for the currently implemented weapon classes. There's too much logical overlap for some of these skills for them to be locked to one specific weapon. Glacial cascade and ice strike are two that most readily come to mind from the quarterstaff skills. |

It's a strange current setup where literally there are no classes at all (other than ascendencies) only what weapon everyone uses.
A monk using a xbow is basically using merc skills. A merc using a hammer is using warrior skills etc. I do hope eventually most of the skills widen out to include all/most melee types (like in PoE), or ranged types etc. Honestly other than starting position (and the fact some nodes are different on the tree based on your class), the only thing that matters for a class is the ascendencies you can choose from. I do hope that changes long term. |

" For now there is no reason to belive they will change it. The UI is made for current system, there was no communications or suggestion otherwise. I like that you and wolfy42 agree - but if you want this change please make threads about this. Cause I'm afraid the "weapon is class" sadly might stay :( |
