Bursting Plague Support | DoT or Not?

Bursting Plague Support:
"Poison from Supported Skills also adds 200% of Damage per Second to Enemy as Plague, up to a maximum of 10% of Enemy's maximum Life"

The wording here seems vague and I can't think of a good way to test this in-game. Is "Plague" dealing 200% of poison damage as an additional DoT to the enemy and then exploding when the enemy dies, or is it just a non-damaging tracker that explodes when the enemy dies?

No it doesn't dots, just a counter. Like Plague Bearer from PoE1 while Incubating.
