If Early Access were free, I wouldn't buy the game based on Trials alone

Title. New to PoE. Loving the game otherwise. Having zero problems at all in the general gameplay. Been smashing my head on the first trial for hours across 3 days now as a melee monk. The honor mechanic is WILDLY over-tuned. Having to completely start over every single time because I'm unable to dodge EVERY attack is a stupid mechanic. Wish I knew about this before paying for early access. Thought this game would blow D4 out of the water but I guess its just another game I'd rather not play.

I wonder if GGG cares. This is the 100th post about this issue.

Literally the only reason I decided to post. Making sure they see how ridiculously stupid this design is. They are trying really hard to rival D4 in how badly game mechanics can be designed. I was so excited for PoE 2 despite not playing PoE previously but my god they fumbled the shit out of this. Thankfully its just early access, but from what I'm reading, this probably isn't going away.

It took me awhile to figure it out too and it was irritating as hell. But I’m glad some content is gated behind hard shit. Don’t make it easy. Keep it how it is.

What is there to "figure out"? It's all bullshit RNG. RNG behind the loot you get on your way there, because if you don't do enough damage you won't last. RNG you get in the trials you pull with game breaking debuffs at complete random.

You need to do high damage, while also dodging the far majority of attacks, because if you get clipped too many times by something that barely scratches you, welp, game over even though you have full health. Hard can be fun. This isn't fun.

And this is going to be every season? A way-too-long campaign, that isn't enjoyably long, it's just covered in HUGE maps, that you will miss your turn a thousand times and have to traverse back and forth over and over (and they bragged about the campaign being long...like, really?) and this asinine trials bullshit. lmao, PASS.

I enjoy games that are difficult, like hard puzzles you need to solve. This is a "if you can't dodge everything, you can't play this game" mechanic. Or, "if you can't make up by doing huge amounts of damage with that super lucky gear you got in this game that doesn't drop loot" mechanic. Your choice. It's bad design either way. Obviously I'm not the only one with this opinion. Just look around this forum. Reddit. Wherever. This game will go nowhere if they don't make serious improvements on things that a huge percentage of their PAYING TESTERS don't like.

I'd say 90% of the posts I read here and on the reddit are negative and that's the ones that don't get deleted. The 10% positive I read seems like very generic AI generated comments or people just happy with the new audio and environmental graphics.

Its easily the worst part of the game atm.

The game has some issues here and there but Trials take them to the max. While bosses might be hard in the campaign, you can keep practicing and trying them thanks to checkpoints. Meanwhile you slog through Trial of Chaos to get a random boss that all have various 1 shot mechanics and you just pray you get one you have put some effort into like the Chimera so you dont get instantly 1 tapped by some random mechanic you havent seen yet, and spend another slog through it again.

They are everything that was wrong with old lab, dialed up to 100.
